- 2 cups whole almonds
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon almond oil or substitute with vegetable oil
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread almonds on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix sugar and salt. Reserve 1 tablespoon in a large bowl.
In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and almond oil. Boil, then add almonds, stirring for 5 minutes.
Transfer almonds to the large bowl, sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture, and toss to coat evenly.
Spread almonds on waxed paper to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
For extra crunch, let almonds cool completely before storing.
For a richer flavor, substitute almond oil with coconut oil.
