Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole almonds
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon almond oil or substitute with vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread almonds on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix sugar and salt. Reserve 1 tablespoon in a large bowl.
  • In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and almond oil. Boil, then add almonds, stirring for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer almonds to the large bowl, sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture, and toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread almonds on waxed paper to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
For extra crunch, let almonds cool completely before storing.
For a richer flavor, substitute almond oil with coconut oil.
