- 10 oz butter 284 grams
- 10 oz sugar
- 5 eggs
- 10 oz self-rising flour
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating briefly. Mix in vanilla extract and salt.
Fold in self-rising flour gradually.
Pour batter into cake pan and tap lightly.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Substitute self-rising flour with all-purpose flour + 2 tsp baking powder.
- Store at room temperature for 3 days, or freeze for later use.
